Upon completion of this course, supervisors will have the knowledge and skills to take on the role of Designated Employer Representative, managing their workplace’s drug and alcohol testing program. The individual in this critical position is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policy and local and state regulations.

The Designated Employer Representative (DER) Training is designed to provide DERs with knowledge of the drug and alcohol testing industry and the supervisory skills required to maintain compliance with company policy and local and state regulations.

Students will receive:

  1. An overview of testing procedures to understand the complete testing process.
  2. An introduction to substances that are typically tested for and the signs of substance impairment.
  3. A full definition of the role of the DER and their responsibilities.
